Research Interests
- Mechanisms of action of gaseous messengers in influencing gastrointestinal motility.
- Role of soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) isoforms α1β1 and α2β1 , of NO-dependent versus NO-independent functions of sGC and of sGC-dependent versus sGC-independent effects of NO in gastrointestinal motility and inflammation.
- Mechanism of the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects of heme oxygenase-derived products in the gastrointestinal tract.
- Role of cyclic nucleotides in signal transduction of 5-HT4 receptor activation in stomach, colon and heart.
