Research Interests
Our group investigates the molecular, biochemical, and cellular mechanisms that underlie the pathophysiology of the vascular wall. We have a fundamental interest in the endothelial response to oxidative and nitrosative stress through specific posttranslational modifications such as S-glutathionylation, S-nitrosylation and tyrosine nitration as well as redox signaling in endothelial cells. We are also interested in the role of the TGF-endothelin-1 axis in fibrosis as this is a pathology inherently related to endothelial dysfunction. Finally, another aim of our group is to find new antiangiogenic strategies in order to halt tumor growth.
