University of Patras, postdoctoral research fellow

The Lab of Molecular Pharmacology at the Dept of Pharmacy at the University of Patras invites applications for a Post-doctoral research fellow to study the interactions between nitric oxide and hydrogen sulfide in the regulation of vascular tone and growth.  We are seeking exceptional and highly motivated candidates in the field of vascular biology and signal transduction particularly focusing on NO and H2S. The successful candidate will have a PhD or MD/PhD degree and a record of originality and productivity in graduate (eventually also postdoctoral) research.  Expertise and publications in the NO/H2S field and/or in vascular biology although not necessary will be a considerable advantage. Proven knowledge of molecular and biochemical techniques and experience in small laboratory animals are essential.

 

The Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology is equipped with modern facilities and offers the opportunity to work with leading scientists in an international and team-orientated environment. While knowledge of the Greek language is not mandatory, excellent written and spoken English skills are required.
The position is co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund – ESF) and Greek national funds through the  Operational Program "Education and Lifelong Learning" of the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) - Research Funding Program: Aristeia 2011. The position is initially available for one year; prolongation is possible for an additional 18 moths and is dependent on merit.
